TIPS, POLICIES, AND TERMS

Getting Ready: Tips to make your home photo-ready

Declutter: Clear away any clutter, personal items, and excessive decorations from the rooms being photographed.

  1. Clean and Tidy: Ensure all areas to be photographed are clean and well-maintained. Dust and vacuum if necessary.

  2. Lighting: Maximize natural light by opening curtains and blinds. Replace any burnt-out light bulbs.

  3. Staging: Arrange furniture and decor to showcase the space's best features. Consider hiring a professional stager if needed.

  4. Personal Items: Temporarily remove family photos, personal memorabilia, and sensitive documents from view.

  5. Pets: Make arrangements for pets to be out of the house during the shoot, or keep them in a separate, designated area.

  6. Exterior: Trim bushes, mow the lawn, and tidy up outdoor spaces. Remove vehicles from the driveway if possible.

  7. Kitchen: Clear countertops of unnecessary items, and hide dish towels, sponges, and small appliances.

  8. Bathrooms: Remove personal items, such as toothbrushes and toiletries. Ensure towels are clean and neatly hung.

  9. Bedrooms: Make beds neatly and remove any clutter from nightstands or dressers.

  10. Repairs: Address any minor repairs or maintenance issues (e.g., leaky faucets, loose cabinet handles).

  11. Lifestyle Shots: If desired, prepare for lifestyle shots by setting the dining table or creating a cozy atmosphere in living spaces.

  12. Privacy: Discuss with the photographer any areas that should be off-limits during the shoot.

  13. Day and Time: Coordinate with the photographer for the best day and time for the shoot, considering lighting conditions.

  14. Accessibility: Ensure all areas to be photographed are easily accessible and not obstructed.

  15. Backup Plans: Have backup plans in place for adverse weather conditions if exterior shots are planned.
